Part of Muallif's Monthly Milestones. A place for exploring Islam. A time for newcomers and ‘old-school converts' to connect. A gathering to break bread with family and companions - Muslim or not.
In our last session, Practising Solidarity, we faced the reality of Islamophobia and hostility. We learnt how to define it, report it, and where necessary to seek justice and legal support.
This month we turn inward: from reporting harm to restoring the soul.
The Prophet ﷺ said, “I was only sent to complete good character.”
This is an all encompassing statement that embraces character with God, with others and the world around us, and with ourselves:
🌿 With Allah - sincerity, devotion, remembrance.
🌿 With others - mercy, justice, service
🌿 With ourselves - balance, self-preservation, and compassion.
This session explores ḥuqūq al-nafs — the rights of the self — and the sacred link between wellbeing and character.
Imam Issarar al-Azhari (Sharaf Institute) will discuss the Prophetic foundations of wellbeing and emotional integrity, while Shoana Qureshi (Nottingham Counselling Services) will share practical tools for self-preservation, regulation, and the capacity to recover from adverse experiences.
